RECEPTIONIST

Ericeira

We are currently looking for a receptionist for our beautiful camp in Ericeira, Portugal. The Receptionist is responsible for assisting the Camp Manager and the Assistant Camp Manager with the reception and front office operations and with guest communications and satisfaction, making sure that our guests have the best surfing holiday possible.

The reception’s main task is to be a source of information that is consistent and reliable for all guests to come and feel welcomed, valued and that all of their questions are answered.

Key duties:
  • Assist the Camp Manager and the Assistant Camp Manager in the daily running of camp.

  • Answer emails and phone calls, including Welcome Emails, Thank You Emails and Transport Emails. 

  • Manage the guests’ check in and check outs. 

  • Monitor the guests’ bookings, including surf levels information.

  • Manage the guests’ reservations for dinner and activities and communicate with partners. 

  • Organize the guests’ transfers and communicate with transport partners. 

  • Communicate with the guests and answer any questions about the camp, about restaurant reservations, etc..

  • Daily monitoring of guests’ consumption. 

  • Manage complaints politely and report to the Camp Manager and/or Assistant Camp Manager. 

  • Communicate with the bar / kitchen / surf / cleaning / maintenance team when necessary. 

  • Monitor the surveillance cameras during the shift and control entrances. 

  • Control the rental of surf equipment, bikes and skates. 

  • Assist with the shop.

  • Keep the reception area clean and organized.

Profile:
  • Experience in customer service, tourism and/or sales.

  • University degree.

  • Fluent in English.

  • Familiarity with spreadsheets and Google docs.

  • Positive and an outgoing personality.

  • Great organizational skills.

  • Capable of working under pressure, dealing with complaints and managing change. 

  • Great teamwork skills.  

  • Availability for flexible working hours, including weekends. 

  • Valid driver’s license.

  • Living in Mafra will be valued.

CAMP MANAGER

Sri Lanka, Bali, Costa Rica, Norway

The Camp Manager is responsible for the camp, the staff and ultimately making sure that our guests have the best surfing holiday possible. In doing so you’ll be involved with all aspects of customer relations from the moment their booking is confirmed until they head back to the real world with tan lines and a big smile on their face.

In order to do this successfully you need to be flexible, service-minded and well organized.

Key duties:

- Make sure our guests have the time of their life

- Take good care of our amazing staff

- Monitor and report financial results to the Operations team

- Manage bookings, enquiries and any ad-hoc challenges at the camp

- Coordinate, monitor and follow-up the weekly schedule, including surf school and non-surf activities and meals

- Supervise daily meals with a commercial kitchen for our included buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner program for our guests

- Overseeing the running maintenance at the camp throughout the season.

- Ensure and work towards goals that are set by the Destination Manager and implement new initiatives and best practices as instructed by management.

- Maintain and continue to strengthen our bond with the local community, our local partners and our guests from around the world

Social host

Our Social Hosts are in many ways the source of our guests’ satisfaction and the vehicle for providing the unique Lapoint experience. As a Social Host you’re responsible for spreading stoke, good vibes and enthusiastically & extensively hi-fiving our extended surfing family/guests throughout their stay. A normal day consists of everything from mellow beach-hang with the gang and late night yodeling with the crew at the after-surf party to meal-preparation and cleaning.
 In short, a Social Host makes sure that all our guests are looked after and that they have the awesomest holiday of their lives. It’s a big job but if you’re the right person, it won’t feel like ‘work’ at all.

Key duties:

- Socialize and engage with all guests at the camp

- Help organize, execute, market and sell activities at the camp

- Assist booking of restaurants and other venues that the camp will attend on a weekly basis, and attend if needed

- Ensure camp and camp areas are tidy and organized

- Assist with meal-preparation and some cleaning

- Carry out weekly follow-up tasks according to instructions given from Camp Manager

SURF INSTRUCTOR

Surf instructor in Hoddevik, Norway

Are you a passionate surf instructor with a zest for adventure?

If so, here’s a chance for a unique experience, working at our beautiful camp in Hoddevik, Norway. Our instructors are the backbone of our organisation, delivering surf lessons to smiling guests around the world.

As an instructor, you’re responsible for passing on your knowledge of the sport, the ocean and water safety to the students in a safe, fun way. A normal day in Hoddevik consists of everything from surf lessons and equipment maintenance to hanging out with our guests after the surf. In short, the instructor makes sure that all our students are successfully introduced to our lifestyle & passion and help them lift their surfing ability beyond their wildest dreams. If you love surfing as much as we do, and know how to teach, lead and inspire, you’ll be perfect for this role.

We are looking for surf instructors for the period August to December.

Key duties: - Deliver 1-3 surf lessons per day - Surf equipment rental - Look after the guests, the camp, the surf facilities and the camp’s surf equipment - Last but not least, surf surf surf! Profile: - ISA certification - First Aid and/or life-saving training - Looking for both Scandinavian and/or English speaking instructors - Organised and enthusiastic personality - Contagious passion for surfing

Social Bar Worker

Passionate about creating good times and looking for a tropical adventure? Then look no further! We are always searching for the new Social Bar Worker for our two beautiful camps in Costa Rica and 

The Social Bar Worker is mainly charged with running the daily operations of the bar but also of creating a social environment in and around the camp.

Key duties:

  • Daily follow up on guest to ensure guest welfare

  • Fill up and ensure Bar are full and compelling

  • Be the “face” of the Bar towards the guests

  • Conduct daily/weekly inventory checks and fill up reports to Camp Manager. 

  • Ensure that the Bar runs smoothly with orders and payments 

  • Attend weekly staff meeting with Camp Manager

  • Assist booking of restaurants and other venues that the camp will attend on a weekly basis, and attend if needed

  • Assist guests with booking taxis and/or similar

  • Assist with the serving of meals 

  • Carry out weekly follow-up tasks according to instructions given from Camp Manager
